Dana Point Election 2018 Candidate: Mark McGinn

The race for city council in the 2018 Dana Point election District 2 has come into full focus now that the deadlines have passed for filing to run. Mark McGinn, a Dana Point resident of the newly drawn District 2 seeks to represent the district, which consists of:

  • Thunderbird Park area (partial)
  • Dana Hills
  • Rogers Rd.
  • Terraza del Mar
  • Mar Y Sol

  • The “Bible Belt” area
  • Bear Brand Silvertide
  • Lantern Hill
  • Marinita

Mr. McGinn’s campaign website ( https://mcginnfordanapoint.com/ ) highlights his campaign objectives to promote public safety, to make progress on the issue of unlicensed group homes, to address runaway government spending, and to give residents a voice on the city council again through transparency and open government.

 

Mark and his family moved to Dana Point in 2012 and fell in love with the city. His professional background is in the energy industry, and according to the campaign website:

I always look to ask the right questions and understand root causes. My real passion comes from working collaboratively with stakeholders to create unique answers to unusual problems.
